National Alpaca Day
October 4, 2022
What is National Alpaca Day?
Founded in 2014, National Alpaca Day is celebrated on September 26th. Alpacas are large, furry animals that can be found in Peru and Bolivia. They have been working alongside humans for centuries. These cute animals have unique personalities. They are highly sensitive to their environments. They are mostly timid in temperament. Alpaca Owners Association founded Alpaca Day to educate people about alpacas and their roles in our daily lives.
National Alpaca Day raises awareness to the fact that there needs to be more conservation for alpacas and their habitats. Like many other animals, their habitats are being destroyed and taken over to be used for more room for towns, cities, etc.
