Unbroken is a very detailed and well-made piece of literature. It’s the story of Louis Zamperini (January 26, 1917- July 2, 2014) who was an Olympian and a bombardier in WW2.
The story is mainly about his struggles in Japanese internment camps in World War 2 and dealing with his captors. He shows his resilience and his ability to remain unbroken through all his suffering. Dealing with the loss of friends, hunger, beatings and many other things
Late in the story Louis is imprisoned in a camp, and he shows his strength in this camp showing Mutshurio “The Bird” Watanabe ,the officer of the camp, how his attempts at breaking his spirit did not work. This part of the story is very powerful and inspiring
This story shows how no matter what was thrown at him, no matter how much pain he went through, Louis always remained unbroken. The story is an excellent showing of resilience and determination to survive. This book is a great read and I recommend it if you like historic non-fiction.
