If you like to read and want to join an easy, chill extracurricular, then the Warrior Book Club is for you!
Led by our advisors Shannon Rainwater and Sheri Pruitt, the Warrior Book Club is a small but homely extracurricular that doesn’t take much of your time at all. The meetings are once per month, falling around the 16 – 20 (usually a Thursday) and run from 3:30-4:15 (with snacks provided). Each meeting, members share their thoughts on last month’s book and pick a new one to discuss the next month.
We read a variety of genres, with first month’s genre being dystopian while the most recent being historical fiction.
One thing that makes our club worth joining is that members have a voice unlike in other book clubs, being able to vote for the book they wish to read. This gives us freedom to be able to vote for what we choose and share our recommendations with other likeminded members.
Another aspect that makes the club unique is how laidback it is. If you’re a jack-of-all-trades type who dabbles in lots of extracurriculars, this is the club you should consider. While there is a sign in sheet each meeting, strict rules on attendance aren’t really enforced (but that doesn’t mean you should never go or anything). Our advisors are very kind and understanding, and will never be upset with you if you have to miss a meeting for other extracurriculars.
If any of what I’m saying piques your interest, you should join us at our next meeting.
Our monthly meeting is after school from 3:30pm – 4:15pm in room 336 (near the library) this Thursday. Walk-ins are welcome, and there is no fee to join.
