It’s almost time for the WINTER OLYMPICS! This year the Winter Olympics will be held from Friday, February 6, to Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Milano Cortina, Italy. The Winter Olympics, first held in 1924 in Chamonix, France, have evolved into a major international multi-sport event, showcasing winter sports and fostering global competition.

They will be featuring 116 medal events across various sports. The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina will feature 16 sports, including the debut of ski mountaineering and several new events.

-Ski Mountaineering (new addition)

In the 2026 Winter Olympics, 2,900 athletes from over 90 National Olympic Committees will compete in various events. Specifically, 91 countries are expected to participate in the games. For example, Team USA will have athletes like Anna Gibson and Cam Smith competing in ski mountaineering.
