What is Art Club? Art Club at Gordon Central is a club to join where you stay after school to express your creativity and socialize with people who also have an interest in art. This includes art such as drawing, painting, printing, and more. Art Club takes place every other Monday of the month, from 3:45-5 p.m.
We spoke to Ms. Defrench, the Art Club Adviser, and we asked what the art club is currently working on. Ms. DeFrench stated, “the last thing we did was make and put up positivity posters around the school, and the next thing we are going to work on is print making.”
We also spoke to a student who participates in Art Club, Emily Chasteen. We asked if she would you encourage others to join Art Club? Emily answered, “yes, I would encourage others to join because it doesn’t matter your skill level. So, it’s a good way to be introduced and taught different aspects and mediums of art. So, it’s a fun thing to do after school with friends.” We asked Ms. DeFrench the same question, she said, “yes, I would, especially if they art able to take the class and are interested in art.”
