Ever wonder why we get a whole week off school? It’s because spring breaks in schools are designed to provide a mid-semester respite, allowing students and teachers to rest and recharge during the long stretch between winter and summer holidays. Typically occurring in March or April, this break helps alleviate burnout, aligns with religious holidays like Easter, and offers a needed escape from schoolwork. Historically, it also evolved from times when children might have been needed for spring farming, or as a break from crowded, un-airconditioned school buildings in cities.
