Endangered species; organisms at substantial risk of extinction due to rapidly declining populations. In today’s world, there are over 1 million species threatened by extinction due to things such as habitat loss, climate change, and poaching. Animals such as tigers, gorillas, sea turtles, and many more are at risk of extinction if humans do not act soon.
Helping endangered animals includes, protecting their habitats, reducing waste, and supporting conservation efforts. Planting trees and flowers would be a wonderful way to give back to local ecosystems. Using less plastic and recycling would reduce pollution. Avoiding products that threaten animals such as ivory, or forms of illegal trade. All of these are good options and opportunities to help endangered species as well as the world in general.
Another way to protect endangered species is to advocate for wildlife and support conservation. While species die out everyday, there are some humans trying to act before its to late. For example, Giant pandas, which were once considered endangered, are now only considered as vulnerable. This is thanks to the effort from successful conservation efforts in china that increased the population to over 1800-2700 individuals. While the pandas stay threatened, they are in much better shape than they once were. This could happen for all endangered animals if more people around the world would chip in.
The next time you’re about to use a plastic bag, tear down forests, or if you have some spear change, think about the animals. Think about how the next generation may not see certain animals if our generation does not act soon.
