Come see Hadestown on March 27, 28, and the 30th, at 7pm. It’s also playing Sunday 29th at 3pm. At the Blue Box Theatre, admission is $10.00.
Hadestown, by Anaïs Mitchell, is a folk opera that reimagines the Ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, intertwining it with the story of Hades and Persephone, set in a Depression-era- inspired world with jazz and folk music.
The story follows the young lovers Orpheus and Eurydice, who’s romance is tested when Eurydice goes to the underworld for work, promoting Orpheus to journey there to save her. The show, which began as a DIY project and concept album, evolved into a critically acclaimed Broadway hit, winning eight Tony Awards in 2019, including best musical.
