There will soon there will be a baby elephant for all to see at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, DC. A baby elephant named Linh Mai, became the first Asian elephant to be born there in nearly 25 years. There are fewer than 50,000 Asian elephants left in the world. This is a major conversation success for the endangered species. The zoo has announced public viewing is just around the corner.
