Have you noticed some of your classmates missing lately? Or even some of your teachers? Covid is on the rise again and it is up to us to be diligent in our prevention.
Covid was a huge problem in 2021 all though 2022; there were about 3.3 million based on the excess Mortality estimates produced for 2020. Just in the United States of America, this is the confirmed cases 103,436,829 out of these cases 1,127,152 people died in America, the ages between 10 to 14 years old had the highest risks of ICU admission and death among hospitalized children with Covid-19. Unfortunately, there have been reports of covid possibly coming back, though it may not be as strong as it used to, its best to protect ourselves and others so we don’t have another pandemic.
The Gordon County Government webpage (https://gordoncounty.org/covid-19-update-not-the-time-to-become-complacent/) says this:
Over the last couple of weeks cases in Gordon County, the State of Georgia and the country have increased after multiple weeks of declines in case numbers. As these numbers declined people may have become more relaxed on precautions such as social distancing, avoiding large gatherings, washing hands, staying home if you are sick and the wearing of masks. As these numbers continue to trend upward this is not the time to become complacent and lose the gains we have made. We are asking each citizen and family to please remain diligent to keeping yourself and your family as safe as possible by continuing to observe recommendations from public health officials.
To the parents of students in Gordon Central: please keep your teenagers away from people that are sick, or not feeling well. School is already stressful for teenagers, and if covid comes back teenagers will get more stressed. Please make sure you and your kids are social distancing, wearing a mask when necessary, getting the latest booster, and of course, washing your hands as consistently as possible. Covid affects the whole classroom, and can be fatal for people already facing health issues. Overall, we should keep ourselves, our friends, and our family safe by keeping a clean environment and avoiding contact with those who are infected.
