How often do you get on social media? The time a teenager should be on their phone is a maximum of two hours per day. More than fifty-four percent of teenagers are on their phone longer than that amount of time. Over eight hours of time in a teenager’s day is spent scrolling on social media.
Social media can lead to increased feelings of loneliness and isolation causing depression and anxiety. It can also contribute to low self-esteem and body image issues. I can relate to this myself as a teenager and I know many others feel the same way about it as well. It can also lead to cyberbullying and online harassment, causing emotional distress.
Excessive use of social media can disrupt sleep patterns and decrease productivity. It is important for teenagers to find a healthy balance and use social media responsibly. It is such a widely discussed concern and many people have common knowledge of this issue. To resolve this problem, it can start by lowering your screen time by 30 minutes every week. Challenge your friends to do the same as well.
