Kwanzaa is an African-American and Pan-African holiday that celebrates history, values, family, community, and culture. Most people express the concepts of Kwanzaa in the Swahili language, one of the most spoken languages in Africa. The Official Kwanzaa Website says some of the foods eaten on Kwanzaa are candied yams, buttermilk biscuits, plantains, fritters, and injera. The National Geographic Kids website talks about most people spending  this holiday with their family and friends and celebrate by doing dances, playing the African drums, storytelling, and a large traditional meal.
