The two runners for the 2024 election were Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. The majority of the labor union members align with the Democratic party. Half of the union members supported Harris and 43% advocated for Trump. The share of U.S. workers who belong to a union has fallen over the past four decades. The majorities of Americans say declining union membership is bad for the country and for working people. The majorities of Americans say 55% labor unions have a positive effect on the country. Kamala Harris’ campaign promoted a “New Way Forward” meaning to protect our freedoms and strengthen our democracy. On the other hand, Donald Trump’s campaign pushed to “Make America Great Again.” Trump believes our country has fallen apart, “our disastrously Open Border, our weakened Economy, crippling restriction on American Energy Production, our depleted Military, attacks on the American System of Justice, and much more,” and he wishes to make it great again. While both campaigns had their flaws, they ran a good election. With the results of the 2024 election, Donald Trump only needed to win with 270 votes but ended with 312, while Kamala Harris had 226. Kamala Harris had a 48.1% popular vote and Donald Trump had 50.1% popular vote.  Although, in the end Donald J. Trump became victorious in the 2024 election becoming the 47th president of America.
