Georgia and Texas met once again this season, but this time in the SEC championship game. These two teams have met already this season in week 7 with Georgia coming out on top 30-15.
In this matchup the game started slow, with both teams only scoring field goals with the score being 6-3 Texas at half. Even though they were down the Dawgs rallied to score 10 unanswered points in the third quarter, then in the fourth Texas scored 10 points themselves with Georgia getting 3 of their own making the score 16-16 at the end of regulation.
The game would then go into overtime with Texas putting faith in their defense to stop the Bulldogs offense but they wouldn’t with Trevor Etienne scoring the game winning touchdown giving the Bulldogs a SEC championship and a bye week in the CFP. Georgia is now the second seed with the Longhorns now being the fifth seed and will face Clemson in the first round.
