Many people struggle to make friends which can cause self-isolation, anxiety, and depression. This is why I’m writing this article to help the students with these struggles. Here are some examples you can do to improve on these problems;
Example 1: Join a sport, many people in one sport can share so many similarities you didn’t know. From past experience I should know because in the beginning of my freshman year I had no social skills. I only had about 10-15 friends but when I joined Volleyball, I met people that wanted to communicate with me. I made the varsity team and became friends with all of the players and coaches. This helped me improve my communication skills and talk to more people.
Example 2: Join in extra circulars, there are many things to do at this school like, Drama, Corus, Band, Yearbook, and many other circulars also the Reading club. Even these types of extra circulars can help boost your skills in the long run. I asked Aaron Lopez if this helped him because he joined band.
He said,” Joining Marching band had to be one of the best things I’ve ever done, because it helps me make more friends.”
Example 3: Join a social media platform, for example TikTok shows Get Ready with me, Day in the Life, and Healthy Hacks. Showing people, the confidence you have can make you TikTok Famous. Showing your true self online can show others how similar you are to them.
