Throughout the 24-25 Gordon Central basketball season they have grown tremendously as a team, as players, and as individuals. From the beginning of the season- to where we are at right now, there has been so many changes made that has allowed our team to grow and prosper into something big and great. At the beginning of the season Gordon Central basketball were missing a good chunk of their players due to the ongoing football season. With that being said, games are won as a team-not individually. Gordon Central’s basketball team played their first game against Woodland, all the while missing a couple of their players. This being said, Gordon Central sadly lost 67-55 to Woodland. Even though they took a tough loss, they definitely came and bounced back not even a week later.
Football season had ended and Gordon Central’s basketball team was finally a whole again. Gordon Central played Woodland yet again on November 22nd at Gordon Central. The teams chemistry and drive to show Woodland what they are really made of allowed Gordon Central to come back and beat Woodland 58-48. Now many people may say the game didn’t matter due to it not being a conference game. However, I wholeheartedly believe Gordon Central needed that win to set their foot and mindset for the remainder of the season. Showing that as one, they can accomplish whatever they choose to put their mind to.
We are about 3/4’s of the way through the basketball season and spectators, colleagues, coaches, and people in the stands have bared witness to the amazing coaching and player chemistry that has developed immensely throughout Gordon Central’s season. I have first-handedly seen the hard work both coaches and the players have put into their season. The daily practices, the voluntary film watching, and even the open gym on the weekend has allowed Gordon Central’s team to constantly put in the work for their season and for whatever is to come next for them. I am extremely proud to say I am apart of Gordon Central’s team. I’ve seen the dedication throughout the many ups and downs, but me personally- I believe their season is just getting started!
