National Tooth Fairy Day-
National Tooth Fairy Day lands on August 22nd and Februray 28th every year to encouge us too look back on the history of the tooth fairy, and how it helps childen develop good dental hygeine.
The tradition of the tooth fairy dates back to the 1920’s, when a toothpaste was released called Fairy Wand Tooth Whitener, so still fairly new. In 1927, a man named Esther Watkins Arnold printed an eight-page playlet for children called The Tooth Fairy. Arnold then begin performing the play in schools which resulted in more children finding nickels and dimes under their pillows, which the tooth fairy had left for them.
Today the tooth fairy isn’t talked about as much. While, yes, the tooth fairy is still considered to be around in 2025, many parents continue the tradition of leaving money for children’s lost teeth. However, some reports suggest a slight decrease in the average amount left per tooth compared to previous years.
