April Fools’ Day has fallen on April 1st for a long time, the day consists of pranks being played on friends and family and sharing laughs. This is a time where children convince their parents they have broken a bone or broke something of theirs; however, sometimes the parents get in on the jokes too.
April Fools’ Day doesn’t have one distinct origin, but it does resemble other festivals such as Hilaria of ancient Rome and Holi in India, which ends on March 31st. Some have also proposed that the custom originated in France. While are many variations between countries on the celebration of April Fools’ Day, all have the same excuse to make someone play a fool.
Some April Fools’ Day pranks to pull on friends and family:
- Minty Oreos: Replace the cream inside with toothpaste.
- Extra Cold Cereal: Freeze a bowl of cereal the night before and try to give it to someone.
- Cake Pop Prank: Dip grapes (or any fruit or vegetable) into chocolate and let dry.
