Mrs. Vincent is the volleyball coach at Gordon Central High School, and I sat down with her to ask some questions about herself and her team. She played travel volleyball in high school, and became a volleyball coach because she loves volleyball. She would describe her team as a good and motivated team. Vincent is planning to coach volleyball for as long as the school will have her coach it. I asked her if she thought she was a good or bad coach and why, and she told me that she thinks she still has room for improvement. Vincent has been coaching volleyball for two years.
The team lost a tournament to Gordon Lee–the first game was 9 to 25 and second game was 7 to 25. They had another tournament against Dalton Academy, and they won both games. Kendall Tucker and Baylee Chastain are two really good volleyball players, and I asked them to describe Coach Vincent, and to tell me how they became interested in volleyball. Tucker said she became interested in volleyball because she knew when she went into 6th grade she wanted to do something after school, and she went to a volleyball game one day and decided that’s the sport she wanted to play. She thinks her team is pretty good and she loves her coach. Tucker thinks she did okay, but there was definitely room for improvement in the first game, and she did pretty good on the second game, but there was still some room for improvement. Chastain said what she likes about volleyball is her team. She would describe her coach as motivated. Chastain has been playing volleyball since 9th grade and is planning on playing it throughout college. She got interested in playing volleyball because she wanted to play a sport. She thinks her team did well on their last game, but she thinks she personally needs some improvement.
The next home game is Tuesday, September 30 against SE Whitfield. See you there!
