Mrs. Hice is a new face on campus! She went to Troop High School, and she went to Troy University for both her bachelor’s and master’s degree. She didn’t want to be a teacher at first, she didn’t even go to school to be a teacher–instead, she went to school for broadcast journalism. She worked in television news for ten years before becoming a teacher. She thought she was going to do public relations, but that is a very competitive market, so someone suggested that she teach. Mrs. Hice began to teach broadcast journalism in a high school in Rome, Georgia, and she fell in love with it. She’s been teaching for seven years. When she was in high school, she was in the band and she was what’s called a Tigerette. They twirled the flags, and they were the competition dance team when it wasn’t football season. She didn’t do any sports in college, she just focused on her college work and tried achieve her goals. Mrs. Hice is married with two kids–her oldest is Rylee, a 7-year-old, and her youngest who is a 5 months old is named Parker. In her free time she loves to cook, bake, read, and watch scary movies. She would like to go back to school to get her educational specialist degree, and she would someday like to become a CTAE director for technical education.
